62% Malaysians Lead Exciting Sex Lives
“Malaysians Doing It Better”, as published in The Star citing results from Durex’s ‘In the Bedroom’ Sexual Wellbeing Global Survey, with 62% respondents claiming to lead exciting sex lives and 4 out of 5 Malaysians have sex on a weekly basis.
But are we really doing it better?
Quality vs quantity Surprisingly, 74% of Malaysian respondents have sex weekly, which is higher than Thais at 65% and Singaporeans at 62%. Although 35% of respondents actually “do it” 3 times or more, 54% said thrice weekly is not enough. Either we are sex slaves or it’s just too many quickies, since Malaysians only spend an average of 19.9 minutes making love, which placed us on the top ten (6th place) in global ranking (more like out of the 26 countries surveyed) as the world’s fastest in love-making.
Where are we compared to them –> 78% of Nigerians are happy that their love lives are as exciting as they could be and 65% of Latin Americans claimed to have regular orgasm. Oral sex is the most common among Austrians at 80% while 68% of Thais are more likely to indulge in sexual materials to boost their libido. On average worldwide, it’s the 65 years old ++ age group who are most likely to achieve sexual satisfaction *gasp*
Bonding vs bondage 74% of Malaysians want more romance, followed by 66% who want better communication with partner and 64% want more fun. The survey also revealed that 45% confessed to having a thing for sexy underwear and 62% expect their partners to become more experimental in their love lives and are optimistic it will happen within 10 years. A whooping 72% of Malaysians felt that sexual aids should be sold in pharmacies.

“Millions of people feel unsatisfied with their sex lives. Whether it’s the frequency or lack of variety and excitement, they feel that their sexual wellbeing is suffering,” said Dr. Sari Locker, a sexuality and relationships educator.
Then again, out of the 26,000 online survey conducted, the results of the Malaysia segment is only the voice of 1,026 Malaysians.
What say the rest of us?
Zombie Zapping
It’s Friday and I’m sooo looking forward to the weekend. Believe it or not, I have not sleep in the last 25 hours. That’s just the story of my life. I’m the sort who can go on for two days straight without sleep, run about town, get errands done, prepare proposals, work on my storyboard and then sleep at 9pm till the following midday, and go on again for the next 24 – 48 hours.
So, even while I was brain dead at 3a.m. this morning, I decided to toy about with Sonific songspot and added some pretty neat songs to entertain you. Then I went into Facebook and tried to figure out why Zing was so into that Zombie application and what’s all the fuss about building a huge community of e-Zombie armies when I’m already a Zombie myself. I still don’t get it Zing. You can just let me bite you and you can turn into a real Zombie.
I got an unexpected call from an old friend who is currently based in Shanghai. She was surprised to hear that I am now a wedding planner, since I started off my career as an auditor. First thing she asked was, “so what do you do as a planner?” Well, for starters, all that drilling in one of the big 4 accounting firms definitely paid off. Can see where I get all the midnight oil to burn. Except, I don’t think I ever pulled an all-nighter crunching numbers on my calculator. Last week, I decided to do house chores at 2:42a.m. when I was stuck for inspiration. After living with me for 3 years, my housemate still doesn’t get it
Beats me why she was still awake at 2:42a.m. wondering the same thing about me.
Keeping busy with chores allows me to think, and I’ll sometimes just get that ‘aha’ feeling, you know… when out of no where, a new idea pops up. When I start on something, I simply got to get it done at the heat of the moment.
So, for a peek into my zombie life, here are the highlights of my week.

- A birthday party for a certain ‘Princess’.
- Checking out the venue for an up-coming wedding.
- Yes, that’s the dashboard, but I was trying to capture the cars in front of me. This is a very important highlight because in KL, regardless of how I try to time myself to head downtown at non-peak hours of the day, I will still end up being stuck in traffic jams! Ironically, I spend more time being stuck in traffic than the average duration of my meetings! *sidenote: one of the many benefits of hiring a wedding planner so that you can let us do the ’swearing’ in the car while you do something better like getting your manicure done, do some shopping or getting a blow job. Your hair I mean.*
- Blogging has become significantly significant in my ’social life’.
- Getting new plants for the office.
- Reviewing a proposal, updating one budget sheet and preparing two new ones.
- Getting a real social life catching up with my girlfriends at Sky Bar.
- Discussing business plans over two cups of teh tarik, two cups of teh o ais limau and one cup of milo kosong panas; and watching Remy’s friends from Ratatouille play around the compounds of the empty mamak. Seriously, rats come out to play at like.. 4:30 in the morning. Like tonnes of them!
- Budget – hunting for props (sorry, no pic for this).
I’m really looking forward to a quiet weekend, catch a movie, go for a walk by the beach and do some light shopping. Hope you’ll all have a good weekend too.
Things I Forgot at Birth
“There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroad. Afraid, confused, without a road map. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course, when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back.
But once in a while, people push on to something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone, and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in, or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream.
Because it is only when you’re tested that you truly discover who you are. And it’s only when you’re tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief. And beyond fear of what lies ahead.
Losing your way on a journey is unfortunate. But losing your reason for that journey is a fate more cruel. Sometimes I traveled alone, sometimes, there were others who took the wheel, and took my heart.
But when the destination was reached, it wasnt’ me who arrived. It wasn’t me at all. And once you lose yourself, you have two choices, find the person you used to be, or lose that person completely.
Because sometimes, you have to step outside of the person you’ve been and remember the person you were meant to be. The person you wanted to be. The person that you are.” – One Tree Hill -
Today, I find myself standing at that crossroad…..
