{ a } message from the heart

This blog was first conceptualised after my brother passed away on December 3, 2007 at the age of 21,  an incident that changed my life and that of my family, forever. I wanted to start a blog on beautiful living and after much brainstorming…… one idea led to another and eventually, that small idea lead to the creation and design of this chic blog.

It’s a labour of love. It’s quite an ambitious project I must say, considering the fact that I have no experience in professional blogging. But this project was conceptualised as an inspirational site to share wonderful things and discover more talents along the way, and most importantly, it is a labour of love.

As a full-time wedding planner, I am forever in search of beautiful inspirations, whether it’s a painting I see at a bazaar while traveling, or that specific gold-coloured baroque paper design for a place card, or the constant search for that perfect venue for a perfect wedding. I realised there are really no boundaries for creativity because I am constantly inspired just by being.

This blog is pretty much my personal space. I write about the wonderfully talented friends I know in the industry, the great parties and the inspiring love stories, the beautiful places I see when I travel, the good food that is abundant in our country, the occasional kitchen experiments and so much more.

Since this blog started with a heart, and all it takes is a heartbeat to live life to the fullest, the philosophy and principles behind this blog also circle around HEART.

H – HONEST & genuine opinions ;

E – EFFECTIVE ENTERTAINMENT (not empty rambling…lol) ;

A – AUTHORITATIVE expertise (the occasional guest contributors) ;

R – RESPECTABLE ;

T – TIMELY

It is my hope that everyone benefits from this virtual space, a place to inspire and be inspired. I end with this beautiful poem by Nadine Stair.

If I had my life to live over, I’d dare to make more mistakes next time.

I’d relax; I’d limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip.

I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances.

I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers.

I would eat more ice cream and less beans.

I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I’d have fewer imaginary ones.

You see, I’m one of those people who lived sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day.

Oh, I had my moments, and if I had to do it over again, I’d have more of them.

In fact, I’d try to have nothing else.

Just moments, one after the other, instead of living so many years ahead of each day.

I’ve been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat, and a parachute.

If I had it to do over again, I would travel lighter than I have.

If I had my life to live over again, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.

I would go to more dance; I would ride more merry-go-rounds.

I would pick more daisies.
